Gwen Stefani has been cast as Gloria in the CGI feature Madagascar.
The lead singer for the band No Doubt beat Madonna and Jennifer Lopez to the part. In fact, Madonna was officially announced as being part of the cast a couple of months back but seems like things have taken a turn.

"Madagascar is about a lion, a zebra, a giraffe and a hippo Gloria who are born and raied and have spent their entire lives as New Yorkers in the Central Park Zoo. They have been best friends their entire lives. But a bunch of do-gooders decide animals don't belong in the zoo, they belong in the wild. They end up on the island of Madagascar (off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean), where this perfect life of New York civility is turned upside down and inside out, and they suddenly come face to face with savagery."
